Please be aware that, from a county perspective, we are hoping to still be able to run both our development and academy programmes but, at this present time, are uncertain as to when this may be as we are dependent on the guidance issued by England Hockey.
It is important that the sessions that we run are worthwhile both from a player/parent perspective and a county point of view. The current regulations only permit training in small groups of five players, with a coach, in a predetermined area of the pitch. The sessions are primarily skill based as contact and tackling are still not allowed. We, as a county, have taken the decision to wait until England Hockey announce the authorisation of stage three of their return to hockey protocol as we feel that it would be unfair to assess players for a county position when they are unable to showcase their full range of abilities.
We will be posting regular updates as the situation progresses and please, also, do not hesitate to contact Jess Grammer at: email@example.com should you have any further queries.
